When Trinity takes the court tonight against Ballard in the Seventh Region championship game, one player will stand above the rest. Literally.
And though the Shamrocks’ 6-foot-9 Raymond Spalding may not be the most outstanding player on the court, his stock is beginning to soar.
For the third year in a row, Ballard and Trinity will square off in the Seventh Region tournament. Trinity defeated Ballard with a fourth-quarter comeback led by a trio of seniors in the semifinals of the 2012 regional tournament on its way to its first-ever state title.
Last year, Ballard and its outstanding junior duo of guard Quinten Snider and forward Kelan Martin scored a 57-46 win.
Earlier this season Ballard defeated Trinity 65-54 in the championship game of the King of the Bluegrass tour
