Quick, Hall Named To All-State Football Team

Eight players make top three offensive, defensive squads

The 87th Courier-Journal All-State High School Football Team was released recently, and several Catholic school players made the cut.

Trinity High School sopohomore James Quick (WR) and St. Xavier senior Daylen Hall (DB) were named to the first team. Other players who made the second and third teams include Trinity's Derek Bishop (RB), John Michael Heile (OL), Adam Reynolds (LB), and Ryan White (DB); St. Xavier's La'mont McMurry (RB) and DeVontae Beach (LB).

Honorable mention honorees included Travis Wright (Trinity QB), Hunter Kopp (Trinity WR), Garrit Leicht (DeSales RB), Wes Strange (Holy Cross OL), Adam Barry (Trinity DL), and Turney Sugg (Trinity DB).

There were 695 players that received at least one vote. In order to make the honorable mention it took five votes from coaches.
