Over 70 Catholic grade school boys basketball teams are taking over Trinity High School this week, as local 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders sharpen their skills and prepare for the start of their upcoming seasons at the annual Trinity Grade School Jamboree.

Spread between two courts - Steinhauser and Shamrock Gymnasiums - these local CSAA teams are playing a series of games in round robin format at Trinity to get ready for the tipoff of the actual grade school regular season in a couple weeks.

This week's games, which are played for four, six-minute quarters, provide coaches and players alike the chance to play out real-game scenarios with actual referees, substitutions, regulations, etc.

Even some of the Trinity High School varsity basketball players have been given the responsibility of keeping score, running the clock and escorting grade school squads to their respective locker rooms.

Monday night, Day 1 of the Trinity Grade School Jamboree got off to a rousing start as a respectable crowd watched a total of eight games from 5:30pm to 8:50pm. As teams worked through their early season rust, fans and coaches could see great potential for growth.
