DeSales junior takes on the Questions

Each week, LouisvilleCatholicSports.com will be getting to know a new student-athlete from the area by asking him/her a series of 20 key questions - some in-depth, some lighthearted - that will provide insight into the thoughts and personalities of the boys and girls who are doing great things on and off the local courts, fields, tracks, and courses. Below are the "20 Key Questions," brought to you by Key Financial Mortgage LLC.

Coming off the heels of a season where they finished runner-up in the Sixth Region Championship, junior Hunter Tipton and his DeSales High School baseball teammates are chomping at the bit to get another crack at a state tournament berth.

Starting the season with an 11-8 record, including a 5-1 mark against regional competition, the Colts seem to be a contender yet again and Tipton has been a big part of DeSales' success.

A dual threat from both the plate and on the mound, Tipton has provided versatile contributions to Head Coach Ryan Wheat and Co. Tipton is hitting around .400 and has picked up several big wins for his team, including a two-hit shutout in Myrtle Beach, as the Colts topped Grayson County in the Ripken Challange.

Tipton, who drives 90 minutes round trip to DeSales from his home in Taylorsville, has also been successful academically. He maintains a 3.61 GPA in the classroom and is looking at colleges that will allow him to stay close to home. He also says that he wants to major in Computer Science some day, enjoys spending free time with his girlfriend (Allie), and is a big fan of video games.

DeSales, which will take on Southern in its first Louisville Invitational Tournament game today, will also host Carroll County High School on Friday in the All "A" Classic Tournament sectionals.

Before that, however, Tipton participated in the most recent edition of the LouisvilleCatholicSports.com "20 Questions," and his answers are below.
