Quick earns state titles in Football, Basketball and Track

Call him the Triple Crown winner of Louisville high school sports.

James Quick's record setting performance in the 200M sprint at the state class 3-A competition has solidified the Trinity junior as the pre-eminent athlete in the state. His time of 20.94 bested the prior record of 21.22 set by South Oldham's Ben Kittleson in 2001.

Quick was the most potent offensive threat in the state from his wide receiver position and helped propel the Shamrocks to both state and mythical national championships on the football field. He was a starting guard on the Trinity state championship basketball team.

And while the 6'1" 200lb Quick lost the 100M sprint by a scant 0.05 to Ballard's Ronnie Baker, he earned his revenge by besting Baker and the rest of the field in the 200 by nearly a half second.

Quick and his junior teammates, Dalyn Dawkins, Latarius Thomas along with freshman Donald Brooks placed fourth in the 4 x 200 relay with a time of 1:29.29. Watch for this quartet to challenge for a state title at next year's finals.
