St. Xavier grad Burckle finishes 6th in 200 meter breastroke

Clark Burckle, the pride of St. Xavier swimming, finished 6th in the 200 meter breastroke at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Hungary's Daniel Gyurta set a world record in claiming the gold and held off England's Michael Jamieson for the victory. Burckle's teammate Scott Weltz finished fifth and Japan's Kosuke Kitajima, the two-time defending Olympic champion in this event, didn't not make the medal stand.

Check back with LouisvilleCatholicSports.com for more about this race from Clark's sister Caroline with her next installment of the Letters From London blog.
