KANSAS CITY, Kan.--- On the heels of two wins this weekend, the Bellarmine University women's soccer moved up seven spots to No. 14 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.

The ranking marks the highest in program history, two spots ahead of the previous best set last season.

Bellarmine opened the year with a 2-1 victory over the University of Findlay on Friday night at home followed by an overtime win at Ohio Dominican on Sunday afternoon.

Regionally the Knights check in at the No. 2 spot behind only Grand Valley State, who is ranked second nationally. The top six teams in the Midwest Region will earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament with the top two seeds earning a first round bye and the right to host first and second round games.

Bellarmine returns to action on Friday night, opening Great Lakes Valley Conference play at Missouri-St. Louis.
