ST. CHARLES, Mo. --- The Bellarmine University field hockey team romped to a 9-1 victory over Newberry College in its season finale Sunday in the consolation game of the ECAC Division II Field Hockey Invitational being played at Lindenwood University.

The Knights controlled the game from the outset as senior Brittany Raque recorded a hat trick less than 15 minutes into the game. It was the second time Raque has accomplished the scoring feat this season, having also registered  three goals against Newberry in the teams' first meeting on Sept. 29 (a 10-2 win for the Knights).

Bellarmine (9-10) overwhelmed the Wolves with a 38-3 shot advantage, with the Knights getting off 23 shots on goal.

Also filling up the stat sheet for Bellarmine were Meghan Williams with four assists and Alexis Van Wallaghen with three helpers.  Kelsey O'Bryan and Anna O'Toole eached tallied two goals for BU with Natile Perry and Kathryn Schneidtmiller each notching one goal.

Megan Martiny and Alex Moro split time minding the cage for Bellarmine with each goalie recording one save.

For Newberry (0-15), Alisha Locklear scored the goal and goalie Morgan Downey recorded 14 saves.
