BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Meghan Jones became Bellarmine's newest All-American by finishing in a tie for eighth place in the high jump at the NCAA Divison II National Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday night in Birmingham's CrossPlex Complex.

Jones, a junior from Greenville, Ind., cleared 1.7 meters (5 feet, 7 inches) to tie Ashely West of Slippery Rock and Lade Rhodes of Central Oklahoma for eighth place.  Barbara Szabo of Western State was the high jump champion at .85 meters.

Jones becomes the second Bellarmine women's high jumper to earn All-America honors, following in the footsteps of Laura Eppstein, who was an All-American in  2005.

Earlier in the day, Bellarmine's Ben Kolb completed competition in the heptathalon, finishing in a tie for 10th with 5,066 points, a school record.
