The Bellarmine University men's and women's track teams competed at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday  in Romeoville, Ill., at Lewis University.  The women's team came away with a runner-up finish and the men's team finished sixth in the 11-team event.

The Knights' Ben Kolb was named co-Field Athlete of the Year after winning the decathlon, and Kaysee O'Bannon was named Freshman Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year after running to victories in both the 100 and 200 meters.

One of the team highlights was the women's performance in the 1,500 meters where Bellarmine took home the top four spots.  Angela Musk won the event followed by her younger sister Flannery Musk,  Emily Frith and Jenna Lee.

Two Bellarmine school records fell at the meet with Madison Roark breaking her own mark in winning the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:02.01, and Kristin Hamrick shattered her old mark in the heptathlon as she finished second overall with 3,955 points.

Other All-Conference performances (top 2 in event) included:

Meghan Jones (won the 400 meters and was second in the 200-giving BU a 1-2 finish in that event)

Maggie Wagner (finished second in the 3,000 meters steeplechase)

Robert Sandlin, Jr. (won the 1,500 meters)

Collin Flannagan, Sean Klosterman, Nathan McKinney, and Damar Williams (finished second in the 4 x 400 relay)

The University Indianapolis took both the men's and women's team titles.  The Greyhounds were 44.5 points clear of Missouri S&T on the men's side, and bettered Bellarmine by just 12.5 points in the women's competition.
