St. X athletes ink LOI's
Twelve Tigers participated in the signing ceremy this afternoon / Conor Revell

Fifteen St. Xavier student-athletes signed letters of intent at the John Wills Activities Center Wednesday afternoon. The students-athletes will attend 12 different colleges in five states.

Wrestling – 2013 State Champions - (First since 2001)

Brandon Pledger - Campbellsville University – Pledger advanced to the finals (182 pounds) at the state wrestling meet in February. The senior recorded an upset win over Campbell County’s Eli Matthew in the semifinals.

Hunter French - Indiana University – French won the state title in the 160-pound weight class. His opponent, Stephan Meyer of Campbell County, came into the finals with a 65-0 record before losing to French in the chapionshp match.

Basketball 19-10 – Lost in the Seventh Region quarterfinals

Brock Kiesler - Wittenberg University – Kiesler averaged 11.5 points and 8.7 rebounds a game as a senior.

Justin Moody - Indiana University Southeast – Moody averaged 8.9 points and 2.3 rebounds a game as a senior.

Alex Jones - Transylvania University – Jones averaged 14 points and 4.8 rebounds a game as a senior.

Soccer 27-0-2 – State Champs (third in a row)

Mark Priebe  - Centre College – Priebe scored two goals and had one assist as a senior.

Eric Muth - Centre College – Muth recorded two goals and seven assists as a senior.

Alex McSweeney - Hanover College – McSweeney scored three goals and had anassist this season.

Ben Sullivan - Bellarmine University

SwimmingState Champs (25th in a row)

Mitchell Forde - University of Missouri – Individual state champ in the 100 free.

“I visited four schools, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Virginia, and Missouri,” Forde said. “I liked them all a lot. It was a hard decision but I liked the journalism program at Missouri. That’s what I want to get into. And I also liked their coaching staff the most and fitted into their team the most.”
