Trinity track and field ranked No. 1 in Class 3-A

The track and field season is nearing the midway point and several LCNS teams are having a banner year.

Trinity, last year’s state runner-up, is ranked No. 1 in Class 3-A while archrival St. Xavier is No. 6. Holy Cross is No. 4 in Class A.

On the girls’ side, Assumption is ranked No. 4 while archrival Sacred Heart is No. 9 in Class 3-A. Holy Cross is No. 5 in Class A and archrival Presentation is No. 10.

The KHSAA track and field state meet will be held Friday and Saturday May 22 & 24 at the University of Kentucky’s Outdoor Track and Field Facility.

* Class 3-A: 1. Trinity, 2. North Hardin, 3. Henry Clay, 4. Bryan Station, 5. Male, 6. St. Xavier, 7. Tates Creek, 8. Dixie Heights, 9. Paul Dunbar, 10. Lafayette.

* Class A: 1. Bishop Brossart, 2. Walton-Verona, 3. Murray, 4. Holy Cross, 5. Villa Madonna, 6. Raceland, 7. Newport Central Catholic, 8. Lexington Christian, 9. Green County, 10. Mayfield.

GIRLS

* Class 3-A: 1. Male, 2. Bryan Station, 3. North Hardin, 4. Assumption, 5. Eastern, 6. Manual, 7. Central, 8. Campbell County, 9. Sacred Heart, 10. Scott County.

* Class A: 1. Murray, 2. Newport Central Catholic, 3. St. Henry, 4. Bishop Brossart, 5. Holy Cross, 6. Walton-Verona, 7. Hancock County, 8. Somerset, 9. Williamsburg, 10. Presentation.
