Name: Maddie Beck

Age: 18

Current school: Sacred Heart

Current Sports playing: Lacrosse

College attending: University of Louisville

1. What is your proudest athletic moment? One of my proudest athletic moments was the phone call I made to Coach Kellie (Young) committing to the University of Louisville. I was in Baltimore playing in the Under Armour All-American games. When I saw her in the stands after the first day I knew right then I wanted to commit and it was the best feeling ever!

2. What is your ideal meal/snack before a game? My pre game snack is either a peanut butter turnover or I'll stop and get a smoothie for some energy!

3. If you were trying out for American Idol, what would be your "go to" song? If I were trying out for American Idol my go to song would be Love on Top by Beyoncé! She's my girl

4. Which athlete do you look up to on a college/professional level? Why? I look up to Kay Morissette, my future college teammate. She's amazing, so strong, and easily one of the coolest people I've ever met. She's so down to earth and an amazing lacrosse player.

5. What is your favorite movie quote? "Am I eating because I'm bored?" -The Grinch

6. How does your faith impact your approach to sports? Before games our team says a prayer together and we're lucky enough to have a coach that reminds all of us to give our glory and talents in the honor of God.

7. What is your favorite cartoon character? I'm obsessed with Nemo. I can quote just about every line of the movie

8. All-time favorite board game? Monopoly! If someone asked me to play with them I'd still say yes

9. Droid, iPhone, or Blackberry? Favorite app? I'm team iPhone but I still love how easy my Blackberry was. My favorite app is Instagram.

10. What is your favorite local restaurant? Chipotle.

11. What is your favorite reality TV show? Reality TV isn't really my thing but put on a documentary and I could watch it for hours!

12. What is your greatest fear? I have a terrible fear of sharks and I fear losing someone close to me.

13. What is your best quality/characteristic? I'm a very open and accepting person. No one or nothing really bothers me, I love everyone!

14. Favorite junk/comfort food? I'm obsessed with donuts, my sweet tooth is something serious.

15. What is your favorite hour of the day? Why? I'm a morning person. I love waking up and making myself breakfast and going for a workout or the sauna, it always puts me in a good mood!

16. What is your nickname and how did you get it? Menchie! I'm pretty sure many people don't even know my real name. When I lived in Atlanta I was obsessed with Menchie's frozen yogurt and all my friends started calling me it so ever since then it's just kind of stuck!

17. Where is your favorite place to volunteer/provide community service? My mom and I last summer went and did community service for guys in half-way houses and we got to see what the real world and struggles looked like just in our own community.

My goal is to one day go to Haiti or visit a 3rd world country to make a difference in helping someone's life. My best friend Madison and I got to help raise money for cancer on Derby this year and it totaled to be around $14,000 so that was amazing too.

18. What is one hidden talent that you possess? I’m a very creative and artsy person. Not many people know but I'm a great painter and drawer, I guess that's considered a talent.

19. If time machines were real, and you could choose just one - to travel forward or backward - which would you select and why? I would travel forward 10 years just to see where I've gotten and where life is going to take me! I'm always wondering about it.

20. If you could pick one person, dead or alive, and ask them just one question that they had to answer honestly, who would you pick and what would you ask? The CEO of Chick-Fil-A, I'd ask him his secret recipe of the chicken sandwich and biscuit.... He better answer honestly!!!
