SHA, Trinity take home Fifth Region crowns

The Sacred Heart and Trinity swim teams cruised to easy victories at the Fifth Region meet Thursday night at the University of Louisville’s Natatorium.


The Valkyries finished with 583-points and won 10 events. Second place Christian Academy recorded 281 points while third-place Assumption finished with 147 points.

Tonner DeBeer, Kennedy Lohman, Asia Seidt, and Brooke Bauer won the 200-yard medley relay for SHA.

Brooke Forde won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:18.46.

Seidt won the 200-yard IM in 2:00.81. Lohman placed second with a time of 2:02.41.

Bauer won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.08. DeBeer placed second with a time of 23:35.

Bauer won the 100-yard freestyle in 50.43.

Forde won the 100-yard freestyle in 4:50.83.

Lohman, Alli Erena, Forde, and O’Hara clocked a 1:36.61to win the 200-yard freestyle.

Seidt won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.19. LeClair clocked a 56.55 to come in second.

Lohman recorded a 1:00.60 to win the 100-yard breastroke.

Bauer, Forde, DeBeer, and Seidt won the 400-yard freestyle in 3:25.89.


Trinity won the Fifth Region with 406 points. Collegiate came in second with 301 points.

The Shamrocks won two events and placed second in another two events.

Taylor Owen placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.36, four seconds behind Atherton’s Arthur Ensign-George.

Hunter Tapp clocked a 21.02 to win the 50-yard freestyle. Christian Academy’s Jason Coultrap placed second with a time of 21.69.

Tapp recorded a 46.14 to win the 100-yard freestyle and finished a second ahead of Collegiate’s Lee Bradley.

Luke Bunnell , Evan Thompson, Owen and Tapp recorded a 3:26.51 to come in second in the 300-yard freestyle relay. Collegiate won the event with a 3:18.89.
