Valkyries sign Letters of Intent

Sacred Heart held their fall signing day ceremony Wednesday in the gymnasium at the school. A total of 13 student-athletes signed with colleges, nine are Division I schools.

Basketball – This group of Valkyrie hoopsters will go down in the record book regardless of how this season goes. Sacred Heart won the Seventh Region title last year and is a favorite to contend for the state title this season.

Grace Berger – Indiana University

Natalie Fichter – Indiana University Southeast

Cierra Scott – Mercer 

Kia Sivils – Marshall 

Field Hockey – The Valkyries have a long standing tradition in field hockey and this group of seniors kept the tradition alive winning four straight regional titles, making it to the state semifinals all four year, finishing as state runners-up as freshmen, and winning the state championship as sophomores.  

Sujin Kang – Lehigh 

Mary Kate Kesler – Indiana University

Courtney Klein – Ohio 

Elizabeth Solomon – Centre

GolfBender continued what had been started with Sacred Heart golf being a part of three state championship teams her freshman, junior, and senior year. As a senior, she also became just the third Valkyries to win an individual title.

Ryan Bender – UK

Swimming – The Sacred Heart swim team has continued it traditions with these four signees having won a state title in their freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons and is the heavy favorite to bring a sixth straight championship this winter.

Madelynn Hall – Centre

Ellie Masterson – South Carolina

Elizabeth Schrenger – Bellarmine
