The week ahead: Basketball enters week two

With the KHSAA football season officially coming to a close Sunday, the action on the hardwood will heat up as the basketball season enters its second week.

Some of the big games this week include St. Xavier hosting Central Tuesday and traveling to Waggener Friday night. Mercy will host Elizabethtown Thursday and play at Assumption Sunday.

But, the two biggest games this week will be on Saturday night. Trinity will host defending Sixth Region champion Fern Creek at 7:30 p.m. and Sacred Heart travels to defending state champion Mercer County to play at 8 p.m.
