Every Monday during the summer except for next week, LCSN Editor Conor Revell will look at the big news that may have happened over the weekend. If you have something that you feel is newsworthy for the Louisville Catholic Sports community, email Conor Revell at crevell@catholicsportsnet.com.

* Trinity wide receiver Rondale Moore committed to the University of Texas on Sunday. Moore will be a senior and caught 15 passes for 327 yards and eight touchdowns in three games. He was forced to sit out the first 12 games of the season by the KHSAA as he transferred from New Albany High School (Ind.).

* The KHSAA dead period started Sunday, June 25 and runs until Sunday, June 9th. Coaches and administrators are not allowed to have any contact with athletes during this period. It’s a great chance to allow athletes to get away and spend time with their family while not having any athletic obligations.

* Trinity junior defensive lineman Stephen Herron announced his top 10 last week. He is looking at Michigan, Stanford, Ohio State, UK, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas, and Alabama.

* St. Xavier led the state winning four boys KHSAA state titles (cross country, golf, swimming, and tennis) last year while Sacred Heart led the girls winning three state titles (golf, volleyball, and swimming).

* St. Xavier rising senior and potentially starting quarterback Jack Albers was second at the Bluegrass QB Challenge with a 61-yard bomb.

* St. Xavier alum Adam Elliott played in the College World Series with U of L. The Cardinals won their first game but lost their next two.
