Trinity to defend KOB title

Trinity’s basketball team will have a chance to defend its King of the Bluegrass title this upcoming holiday season at Fairdale.

Director Lloyd Gardner announced the field Tuesday afternoon. Joining Trinity will be defending state champion Bowling Green, state runner-up Cooper, defending Sixth Region champion and state semifinalist Fern Creek, defending Seventh Region champion Ballard, host Fairdale, Pulaski County, Lexington Christian, Covington Catholic, Walton-Verona, Anderson County and Mercer County

Out of state teams include Ensworth (Nashville, Tennessee), Palmetto (Miami, Florida), Cleveland High (Seattle, Washington), and West Linn (Portland, Oregon).

Trinity went 22-4 last season and lost in the Seventh Region semifinals. The Shamrocks will be led by returning stars Jay Scrubb, David Johnson, and Justin Powell.

The 37th King of the Bluegrass is set for Dec. 19-23 at Fairdale High.
