Year in review: Girls' tennis

The Louisville Catholic Sports Network chronicles the 2016-17 sports year in review. We will bring you every sport, every season, and every team’s season ending results in a capsule until we're finished. Today, we look back at girls’ tennis.

Assumption

Abby Harlan and Gabrielle Tinsley were the only Rockets that made it to the state tournament and made it to the round of 16 before losing to Sacred Heart’s Abby Birk and Natalie Chou.

Mercy

No Jaguars made it to the state tournament.

Presentation

No Toppers made it to the state tournament.

Sacred Heart

Abby Birk and Natalie Chou and Gracie Karnes and Kennedy Martin made it to the doubles state tournament.

Birk and Chou made it to the state quarterfinals where they lost to Scott County’s Grace Gardner and Lauren Moore.

Ella Rueff also qualified for the individual state tournament and advanced to the state quarterfinals where she lost to McCracken County’s Michelle McKamey.

Samantha Higgins also qualified for the individual state tournament and lost in the second round to Kentucky Country Day’s Sarah Fazlagic.
