Football scrimmages were held Friday night in preparation for next week’s season opener. Here’s a look at how all four LCSN teams did.

DeSales 14, Meade County 0

The Colts and Green Waves did 10 plays offensively and 10 plays defensively in the scrimmage and then went to a 12 minute quarter. During the 12 minute quarter, the Colts scored two touchdowns while Meade County didn’t find the end zone.

St. Xavier 35, Simon Kenton 21

The Tigers and Simon Kenton played one half of football before the JV took over in the second half. Including the JV half, the Tigers held off the Pioneers for a 35-28 victory. St. X quarterback Jack Albers completed 6 of 14 passes for 123 yards and ran for 143 yards and two scores. Brett Metzmeier rushed 16 times for 115 yards and three touchdowns.

Trinity 52, Ryle 0

Message to the rest of Class 6-A: GOOD LUCK. Trinity smoked Ryle, one of the better Northern Kentucky Class 6-A teams. Nick Bohn threw six touchdown passes, two to Nick Strothman and Ryan Miller and one to Christian English and Rondale Moore. Brett Tully had a rushing touchdown and Ethan Hull returned an interception 40 yards to setup Moore’s touchdown.
