Ben Rhodes piloted the No. 27 Safelite Toyota Tundra to an 11th place finish in Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Michigan International Speedway. The Louisville native ran in the top ten for most of the day, but handling issues in the closing laps hampered Rhodes’ ability to race for a victory.

Rhodes qualified 14th for the LTi Printing 200, but immediately charged toward the front once the green flag dropped. It took Rhodes just 14 laps to move into fourth. He ended the first stage in the fourth position.

At the start of stage two, Rhodes lost several spots on the restart and faded to 12th. He battled back, however, and finished the stage in fifth place, gaining even more valuable points toward securing a spot in the playoffs.

With only three races remaining in the regular season, Rhodes currently holds the eighth and final playoff spot. He dropped one position in the CWTS points standings, but increased his cushion over ThorSport Racing teammate Grant Enfinger, from five points to 14.

The CWTS heads from the two-mile oval at Michigan to the half-mile short track at Bristol Motor Speedway Wednesday night, giving teams just three days to prepare before race day. Coverage begins at 8:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
