The field hockey season kicks off Monday night. LCSN Editor Conor Revell decided to break down a list of must see games involving LCSN schools. Note: These games only involve Kentucky schools.

The Apple Tournament at Sacred Heart – Friday, Aug. 18 to Friday, Aug. 25 – The Apple Tournament is by far the biggest in-season field hockey tournament in the city of Louisville. Assumption won it last year so the big question is whether or not Sacred Heart can get back on top.

Sacred Heart at Christian Academy – Tuesday, Sep. 5 – This game went into double overtime last year with Sacred Heart winning. Can CAL take the next step and shock the field hockey world?

Assumption at Sacred Heart (Mug Game) – Sunday, Sep. 10, 6 p.m. – This is one of the biggest regular season games of the season as these two rival square off for the ever-so coveted Mug. Assumption won four of the five games against each other last year.

Manual at Assumption – Tuesday, Sep. 12, 7 p.m. – This is a repeat of last year’s state championship game that went into flicks. Assumption came out on top. Now, Manual is looking for a little bit of revenge during the regular season.

Presentation at Holy Cross – Thursday, Sep. 14, 6 p.m. – This is a rivalry game as many of these players went to grade school with each other back in the day. Pres has dominated the series as of late but can the Cougars find a way to stun their rivals?

Mercy at Assumption – Tuesday, Sep. 19, 5 p.m. – Yes, it is a rivalry game but it’s also a test to see if Mercy is ready to take on the big guns. The Jaguars make it to the state tournament every year but then seems to falter.

Mercy at Christian Academy – Tuesday, Sep. 26, 7:15 p.m. – CAL has taken the next step and is considered the best of the rest after Assumption, Manual, and Sacred Heart. Can Mercy take that step and join CAL at that level or is it perhaps the Centurions chance to join the other Big Three at the top.

Sacred Heart at Mercy – Tuesday, Oct. 3, 7:30 p.m. – It’s another chance for Mercy to prove that they’re ready for the next level as they take on one of their rivals.

Manual at Mercy – Thursday, Oct. 5, 7:30 p.m. – Mercy gets another shot at building their resume as they take on last year’s state runner-up.

Manual at Sacred Heart – Tuesday, Oct. 10, 7 p.m. –This could be a preview of the state championship game. Both teams are capable of making a run as both squads took Assumption into flicks before losing in the state semifinals (Sacred Heart) and state championship game (Manual).
