Holy Cross superstar runner Keeton Thornsberry was named Gatorade Kentucky Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year Monday afternoon.

Thornsberry won the Class A individual state title for a second consecutive year with a time of 16:09.37, nearly 27 seconds ahead of St. Henry’s Ethan Snyder who finished second.

His time and finish helped the Cougars win their first ever team cross country state title.

The junior runner is a school ambassador and volunteers at the St. Joseph Orphanage and has a 4.34 grade-point average.

Thornsberry is a finalist for the Gatorade National Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year to be announced later this month.
