Rockets, Valkyries, Toppers, and Jags run at Tiger Run

The Assumption, Mercy, Presentation, and Sacred Heart cross country teams participated in the Tiger Run Saturday morning at Champions Park.

Assumption (211 points) led the way sprinting to a fifth place finish while Sacred Heart (234) came in seventh and Presentation (321) placed 11th and Mercy (418) was 17th.

Jula Corman was the Rockets top finisher and placed 42nd with a 21:47.28 time. Rachel Dierken (46th), Lindsey Doemen (47th), Lydia Mathis (48th), Taylor White (60th), Madeline Harra (102nd), and Gillian Dillman also ran for Assumption.

“Julia Corman was our top finisher and she can struggle on a day like today,” Assumption head coach Barry Haworth said. “She has some breathing issues, but she really ran as well as I could ever hope for. I was extremely proud of her.”

Kaitlyn Cornett was the Valkyries top runner and recorded a fifth place finish clocking a 20:01.13. Meredith Barnes (19th), Helene Senn (59th), Ella Rueff (88th), Emory Jackson (92nd), Lillian Bennett (134th), and Lily Gardner (144th) also ran for Sacred Heart.

“Very impressed with Kaitlyn,” Sacred Heart head coach Rick Heim said. It’s a reflection of what we have been working on. She weathered it all and fought. I’m very proud of her for doing this well at the start of the season. She got her job done.”

Sammi Kisling led the Toppers with a 46th place finish. Olivia Brown (48th), Noelia Radke (67th), Lily Norton (97th), Danielle Ryan (99th), Alex Barthmaier (100th), and Jenna Reliford (117th) also ran for Presentation.

Tori Dupelessis (81st), Leah Simpson (80th), Maddie O’Daniel (83rd), Abby Hans (94th), Kourtney Kawata (101st), Alexis Dehart (120th), Mackenzie Robbins (131st), and Emma Wicke (142nd ran for the Jaguars.
