St. Xavier alum Justin Thomas had a huge weekend winning the World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Golf Club in Akron, Ohio.

Thomas had a stellar weekend and shot a 15-under-par 265.

He shot a a 5-under-par 65 in the opening round, a 64 in the second round, a 67 in the third round, and a 69 in the final round.

It’s Thomas’ third win of the season.

The former Tiger won tournament with relative ease as Kyle Stanely came in second four-shots behind with an 11-under-par.

It’s a perfect setup for next weekend’s PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, the final major of the season.

Thomas is the defending PGA Championship champion winning the event at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, N.C.
