Catholic powerhouses lead CA football standings
Controlling one’s destiny is a popular phrase among teams trying to get into the BCS or other playoff formats.
For the CIF state bowl games, we believe the following teams can put themselves in the best position possible to be chosen for this year’s games by winning in either their final game this weekend or in their section championship.
On the eve of the CIF San Diego Section semifinals on Thursday night, here would be our projected matchups for this year’s CIF State Championship Bowl Games to be held on December 16-17 at the Home Depot Center in Carson:
Open Division – De La Salle (Concord) 10-1 vs. Westlake (Westlake Village) 12-0
Division I – Bellarmine (San Jose) 11-1 vs. Centennial (Corona) 11-1
Division II – Del Oro (Loomis) 12-1 vs. Helix (La Mesa) 10-1
Division III – Marin Catholic (Kentfield) 12-0 vs. Lompoc 12-0
Division IV – Ferndale 10-1 vs. Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) 12-0
