The Louisville Catholic Sports Network chronicles the 2014-15 sports year in review. We will bring you every sport, every season, every team’s season ending results in a capsule until we're finished.

Sacred Heart is a well-known foe when it comes to high school tennis in the state of Kentucky meanwhile Assumption and Presentation looked to compete. Here’s a look at what happened and who went to the state tournament.

Sarah Fitzgerald and Hallie Pennington qualified for the state tournament but fell 6-1, 6-1 to Corbin’s Emma Kate Carloftis and Ellie Carloftis in the second round. They were the only Rockets that qualified for the state tournament.

The Jaguars fielded a competitive team but didn’t send anybody to the state tournament.

Anna Zimlich qualified for the singles state tournament but bowed to Grayson County’s Grace Gorby 6-1, 6-1 in the first round.

Coming into the season the Valkyries were looking to win their third straight state title. Both times their magical victories in the state title match came against McCracken County.

But McCracken County got some revenge this year beating Sacred Heart in the state semifinals. The Mustangs went on to beat Notre Dame in the state title match.

The Valkyries had a good showing in the singles state tournament. Ashley Hammons made it to the Round of 16 before falling 6-1, 6-2 to McCracken County’s Michelle McKamey.

Madeline Wagener played as an individual but lost to Oldham County’s Jarrett Aspen 6-0, 6-0 in the opening round.

Abby Birk and Isabel Kuo also played in the doubles tournament and advanced to the Round of 16 before losing 6-3, 6-1 to Notre Dame’s Abigail Kennedy and Maryann Meadows.

Natalie Dahlem and Ashlyn Roberts led the pack with a quarterfinal finish. Collegiate’s Alexis Austin and Caroline Cox knocked the duo out with a 6-3, 6-3 victory.

Sacred Heart won the Fourth Region Tournament to secure a state tournament bid. Hammons won the individual region title and Dahlem and Roberts were runner ups.
